PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County deputies arrest a man accused of holding up a series of stores with a knife.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says the first armed robbery occurred at 1:54 a.m. Saturday at a 7/11 store, on the 4500 block of Tamiami Trail. A man with a knife got away with an unknown amount of cash.

Then Saturday afternoon, three more robberies were reported, all within blocks of each other on US 41, including a Walgreens at the corner of 41 and Edgewater Drive.  That's where witnesses were able to get a descrption of ths suspect to deputies.  Other robbery reports were at the Bob Evans Restaurant and Sweet Repeats.

Within minutes, the suspect was spotted and arrested.  Detectives are still putting the case together on the four armed robberies and have transported the man to the Charlotte County Jail.
