NAPLES, Fla.- Lightning nearly struck a 16-year-old boy today while putting on the green of a North Naples golf course, officials said.
Our partners at the Naples Daily News have reported that the boy, whose name was unavailable, was playing at the ArrowHead Golf Club, 2205 Heritage Greens Drive, when the lightning struck. He was not transported to a hospital, and his parents were picking him up, Collier County EMS Deputy Chief Dan Bowman said.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office initially received a call about someone being struck by lightning at 2:35 p.m. on Immokalee Road, near Preserve Lane in North Naples.
The boy was conscious and breathing when authorities arrived, Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Michelle Batten said.
