MARCO ISLAND, Fla.- On Thursday, at 3:50PM, Marco Island police responded to a call of a suspicious van driving around in the parking lot with its side door open in the parking lot of 1089 N. Collier. Sgt. Tony Spina of the Marco Island Police responded and located the suspicious vehicle.

While questioning the driver of the vehicle, he was alerted by citizens that a man just attempted to take a woman’s purse by force. Sgt. Spina pursued and located the male suspect who was involved in the robbery attempt.

The 28-year-old male, Jeremy Bradley Lee, was arrested for Robbery (Sudden Snatching) and was conveyed to the Collier County Jail.

The driver of the suspicious van, Stephanie Lynn Cruz, 28, was taken into custody for operating a vehicle with a revoked driver’s license and was also conveyed to the Collier County Jail.

The vehicle involved in this incident was owned by the robbery suspect and was towed from the scene.

The victim in this incident was a 29-year-old Naples woman who was not injured and suffered no loss of property.
