NAPLES, Fla - Arthrex Inc. is expanding in both Collier and Lee Counties.
The company announced a commitment to build a first phase 160,000 sq ft state-of-the-art surgical device facility on Oil Well Road near Ave Maria in eastern Collier County.
“Arthrex is grateful to the Barron Collier Companies for the donation of 21 acres of land and a majority of the Collier County Commissioners and county staff, with broad support of our community leaders, in approving our business expansion incentive program qualification,” stated Arthrex President and Founder, Reinhold Schmieding.
In addition, Arthrex announces further expansion plans with the purchase of a 240,000 sq ft facility off Daniels Road in Lee County. Arthrex will consolidate its existing warehouse, packaging and distribution capacities to this central location near Southwest Florida International Airport to best service our U.S. and global surgeon and hospital customers and their patients.
Reinhold Schmieding added, “Consolidation of our packaging and distribution services will provide new space in our existing Collier County manufacturing facilities for expanding high tech design and production capacity for new surgical device innovations.”
Our 400,000 sq ft first phase expansion commitment will provide hundreds of new jobs for Southwest Florida residents and lead Florida in high wage, high tech, non seasonal job creation for the next three to five years.
Both facilities will further stimulate the Southwest Florida construction industry with the renovation of the Daniels Road facility and the new construction of the Oil Well Road facility.
The estimated $35 million facility expansion investment represents a major commitment of Arthrex to Southwest Florida with an overall economic impact projected to exceed one billion dollars a year by 2016 to the state of Florida and the U.S. economy.
Arthrex remains committed to expanding its medical education program capacity in our North Naples global headquarters with an anticipated visitation of over 10,000 surgeons, healthcare providers and business associates in the coming year, resulting in significant non seasonal economic impact on our community.
Arthrex, headquartered in Naples, Florida, is a worldwide leader in sports medicine product development and educational services for orthopaedic surgeons. Over 5,000 products for arthroscopic and minimally invasive orthopaedic surgical procedures have been developed by Arthrex and are currently marketed worldwide.
