LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Dr. Burke will arrive at Colonial Elementary to eat lunch with some students. Afterwards, he'll head to Trafalgar Middle School in Cape Coral. All morning long, Dr. Burke has been visiting school campuses in Lee County.

This is his first day of school as the new superintendent, so he wants to make sure things go well.

There are more than 82,000 students in the Lee County school system, so it takes a lot of coordinating to make sure everything goes according to plan.

The only issue that Dr. Burke says may need tweaking is the school bus routes. They changed this year and he wants to be certain students are safe.
