PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Port Charlotte man for stealing 15 empty beer kegs from three Port Charlotte businesses.

Road deputies reported five kegs were stolen from each of the three business,Joe Crackers, 2010 El Jobean Road on June 30; the Moose Lodge, 2121 Loveland Blvd., July 22; and Gatorz Bar & Grill, 3817 Tamiami Trail on July 24.

The detective’s investigation led to the identity of the keg thief as Burl Howard Cutright IV, 18, 9225 Sweden Blvd. (Charlotte Ranchettes), Punta Gorda. He was arrested at his home Tuesday and taken to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on $85,000 bond. Cutright is charged with three counts of Dealing in Stolen Property, three counts of Petit Theft, and one count each for Burglary, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Marijauna and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

When Cutright was arrested, he was searched and detectives found him in possession of marijuana, Oxycodone, and a hollowed out pen for inhaling crushed pills. Cutright said he sold the kegs for $15 each to support his drug habit.
