FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two people died when their motorcycle jumped a ramp on Interstate 95 and landed on the railroad tracks below.

The Florida Highway Patrol says operators from CSX Railroad called the Broward Sheriff's Office about 6:40 a.m. Friday to report two bodies on the tracks. The motorcycle was apparently on a ramp leading to westbound I-595 in Fort Lauderdale when the accident happened.

Officials don't know exactly when the crash occurred. They say the man and woman were not hit by a train.

The CSX tracks in that area were closed much of the morning, causing significant delays for the Tri-Rail commuter system.

FHP has not released the names of the crash victims.

No further details were immediately available.
