CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A day-long fundraising event, to benefit P.F.C. Corey Kent of Cape Coral, is happening Saturday, July 30th.

The soldier lost both his legs in a bomb blast last year while serving in Afghanistan.

"Homecoming for a Hero" includes a car wash, a car and bike show and even a poker run wrapping up at the event. It will take place at the 7-Eleven located at 2604  Skyline Boulevard, just south of Veterans Parkway in the Cape from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration for the car and motorcycle show begins at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $15 and judging will take place at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show and Original. Participants must be present to win. Corey, himself, will choose Best in Show.

Registration for the poker run, however, will take place at the Fort Myers Harley Davidson located on Colonial Boulevard from 10 a.m. until noon. The fee for a single rider is $20 and for doubles, $25. Kickstands go up at noon. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
