RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a 14-year-old died after he was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle in the Tampa Bay area.

Officials say Morris L. Taylor rode into the path of a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was heading north on U.S. 301 in Riverview Thursday night. The teen was riding with 15-year-old Elijah W. Anderson, who left the scene to get a parent.

Taylor was ejected from the bike and died at the scene.

Troopers say the teens were wearing dark-colored clothing and neither bicycle had the required bike lights.

The truck driver, 31-year-old Cornelius Dwayne Williams, suffered minor injuries.

FHP says no charges have been filed.
