CAPE CORAL, Fla.- On Wednesday, July 27th at approximately 10:00 p.m., Brandon Chaney of 1808 SE 5th Place was making plans to go out for the evening with an acquaintance, Jessica Wright. Wright was at Chaney’s residence where they made the plans to go out. Wright told Chaney that she had to pick up a few friends from Hustler’s Pool Hall and would return in a few moments to pick up Chaney.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Chaney was waiting in his garage for Wright to return. The same vehicle that Wright was just driving, slowly drove past his house and stopped just down the block from his house. Chaney called out to Wright but got no answer.

Just then, Chaney heard a noise outside of his garage and noticed a white male, with a bandana covering his mouth, come inside of the garage from the side of the house. Chaney ran into the home from the garage with the male chasing him. Chaney yelled to his mother and her boyfriend (who were inside) to call 911. The male chasing Chaney was armed with a handgun and demanded money. Chaney threw $500 cash on the ground. The suspect picked up about $230 of the money and ran out of the house.

Chaney then noticed that a second suspect was inside of the home. A black male, without anything covering his face, was pointing a handgun at his mother and her boyfriend.

Chaney witnessed both suspects run from his house and get into the same car that Jessica Wright was driving and speed away.

Officers arrived at the home and obtained a description of the suspects and their getaway car and broadcast it over the police radio. Officer Angela Fleming saw a car matching the suspect vehicle description on Santa Barbara Blvd within a mile of the robbery scene.

Officer Fleming followed the car and waited for back up officers to arrive before she conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the robbery suspects. Cape Coral Police followed the suspect car over the Midpoint Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on Colonial Blvd and Deleon Street in Fort Myers, near the 7-Eleven parking lot. Officers detained the occupants until Detectives drove the victims to the scene of the traffic stop to conduct a show-up.

The victims positively identified the people detained as the individuals who had just robbed them at gunpoint.

Detectives arrested Jessica Nicole Wright, Brian Scott Pynes, Kevin Jerome Bryant and D’Andre Jemerson and charged them with three counts of Home Invasion Robbery.
