PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives are asking the public for help in identifying a burglary suspect caught on surveillance video trying to break into a gun shop in Port Charlotte.

Deputies responded Wednesday at 8:40 a.m. to a business burglary at Shine Rehab Physical Therapy, 2301-C Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. The back door of the business had been pried open; entry was made but nothing appeared missing. In Unit-B, adjacent to the other business, deputies saw an attempted burglary to A & H Guns. The owner gave surveillance camera video to detectives for processing.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, light brown or blonde short hair, 5’-4” to 5’-6” tall, and wearing a distinctive Phillies baseball hat. Detectives said the video also showed the suspect wearing a diamond in his left ear.
