Deadly ATV crash report shows vehicles were speeding

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- WINK News has learned that speed may have played a factor in a deadly ATV and dirt bike accident earlier this week.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office crash report, Ronald Koger, was on a dirt bike and Matthew Buido was riding an ATV when they collided. They were taken to Lee Memorial where Koger later died.

According to that report, both vehicles were traveling in excess of 40 miles per hour but both had on the proper safety equipment.

"Anybody should wear a helmet, pants, shoes, preferably boots and gloves. they say long sleeve shirt, you don't have to, but its suggested. dirt bikes there are a few other things like chest protectors and high top boots," said Dan O'Connell, Sales & Finance Manager, Gator Sports.
