NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.-UPDATE: A man accused of stealing prescription pills at a CVS in North Fort Myers is in custody. John Drew, 35, has been arrested in connection to the crime.

ORIGINAL: A CVS was robbed in North Fort Myers just after noon Thursday.

On Thursday at 12:31 p.m. the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the CVS Store located at 6391 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers. The caller stated the pharmacy had been robbed.

Lee County deputies told WINK News a man walked into the CVS at the intersection of Bayshore Road and Slater Road and took prescription pills from the store.

Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter. K-9 and Aviation Units also responded but the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid thirties, between 5’7” and 5’9”, wearing a turquoise Miami Dolphins baseball cap, a red shirt, and blue jean shorts. The suspect walked in the store, went to the pharmacy and demanded medications. There was no weapon displayed. After receiving the medication he fled in an unknown direction.
