PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives Tuesday morning arrested a methamphetamine dealer after two previous drug buys at his home in South Punta Gorda Heights.

Detectives during their ongoing drug investigation arrested Gene Richard Hughes, 29, of 15500 Lime Drive. Two separate drug buys were made at the home on July 7. An undercover person each time gave Hughes $100 for Methamphetamine. Hughes then departed on his bicycle and returned a short time later, giving the crystal-type drugs to the undercover person in a small zip lock baggie.

Hughes was transported to the Charlotte County Jail on two felony charges of Sale and Delivery of Methamphetamine and two felony counts of Possession of Methamphetamine. He remains in jail on $15,000 bond. Hughes has been booked into the County Jail 13 times.
