FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County Utilities reports a water outage due to a 10" water main break on Wednesday. The water was turned off and repairs were expected to be completed within 2 hours.
Once the repairs had been completed and water service was restored, the following areas were under a precautionary boil water notice:
All of Oakshade Cir. ,Whiskey Preserve Cir. , Pathfinder Loop , Creekside Lane and a portion of Riverwalk Park Blvd.
Approximately 310 residential and 10 commercial customers were affected.
As a precaution, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should have been boiled at a rolling boil for one minute, or as an alternative, bottled water may be used in these instances. This precautionary boil water notice remained in effect until bacteriological test showed that the water is safe to drink. Test results typically take approximately 48-72 hours.
Residents were advised to call 533-8575 for the status of the boil water notice.
The notice from this event has officially been lifted as of Friday, July 15th.
