CAPE CORAL, Fla.- On July 12th at 8:45pm, Cape Coral Police Narcotics Detectives made arrangements to purchase 40 Oxycontin (20mg) tablets and 10 Percocet (10mg) tablets for $500 from Roy Lee Hudson, 37, of Cape Coral.

The transaction occurred in the parking lot of the Burger King restaurant located at 1013 Del Prado Blvd South. Upon completion of the deal, Patrol Officers from the 4th Platoon as well as K9 Officers took Hudson into custody without incident. Hudson was charged with Trafficking an Opium Derivative.

“Cape Coral is not immune to the explosive prescription drug abuse problem this country is experiencing. We have found that prescription drug abuse, particularly opium based prescriptions, fuel a lot of crime in this city. That makes this everyone’s problem. This is one of the reasons that our Narcotics Detectives aggressively target dealers.”  Lieutenant Tony Sizemore said.
