BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - A Bonita Springs grandmother discovered she has two grandchildren she's never met, thousands of miles away. And all it took were a few clicks of a mouse

"Isn't she pretty," Shirar said as she scrolled through pictures of her granddaughter Hope on her cell phone.

She can't contain her smile as she talks about her newly discovered family.

Back in February, around her birthday, she was thinking about getting older, and came upon the Facebook page of her son, who she hasn't seen in years. Shirar always felt she had more grandchildren out there, somewhere.

"I started reading some of the posts, and in it, he mentioned two names, Hope and Chad, and I had heard rumors years ago that he had two children," Shirar said.

So, she looked them up and sent them messages.

"I said, you don't know me, but I have a feeling you're my granddaughter or grandson. And if your father's first name is Jason, I know you're my grandchildren," Shirar said.

In what seemed like only seconds, she learned she not only has a soon-to-be 16 year-old granddaughter, and a 24 year-old grandson in Texas, she also has a great grandchild on the way!

"Oh, I was beside myself," Shirar said. "I told them, the hole in my heart is all gone, and we can all be a family. It's like it's too good to be true."

Since then, they've done a lot of catching up, learning they share the same green eyes and strawberry blonde hair.

"Chad is 6'4, Hope is 6'2, and I am 6,'" Shirar said. "So I keep telling them, we are all out of the same pattern."

For now, Micki Shirar scrolls through her pictures, thrilled to soon meet the family she always knew was out there, "And to be a great grandma in August," she said. "It will be wonderful."

Monday is the day she's been waiting for. Hope and her mother are flying to Florida, to meet Micki, and spend a few days here. And as soon as Chad's baby is born, his family plans to fly in for a visit as well.
