LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call about a robbery in progress on Friday, July 1, 2011, at 1:47 a.m. The caller was an employee of the Wendy's restaurant, 12034 S. Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida. Deputies responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies learned three employees had exited the closed business and were confronted by a black male wearing all black and a mask. He was carrying a firearm. He pushed the female employee. She then ran away to call for help. The suspect forced the two remaining victims at gunpoint into the restaurant demanding cash. The manager informed the robber the safe was time locked and could not be opened. The suspect took flight exiting the rear of the business.

A K9 track led deputies to the Pine Manor community north of the business. An air and ground search was conducted, but the robber could not be located.
