CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A hazmat situation involving an acid spill has caused the evacuation of all of Edison State College at the Punta Gorda campus Friday morning, according to Charlotte County Fire and EMS.

The acid spill occurred in building G of the Health Science building. 

Authorities say a glass bottle fell out of a cabinet with some liquid in it during the movement of some chemicals. When the liquid hit the ground, it immediately reacted.

No students were in the class at the time. 

 Concern vapors * may* have got into air system and spread. That's a concern...NOT A REALITY!!!!!  They are checking. Crews are in building now.

The call came in reporting the acid spill at 9:28 a.m.
