FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating a homicide at 2252 Wright Street after receiving a call Thursday at 8:16 a.m.

Neighbors found Ellerine Williams, 60, dead inside her home. Police cordoned off the crime scene and investigators are canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses.

FMPD Captain Dennis Eads tells WINK News Williams was found behind her front door.

Investigators say the victim did not suffer from gun shot wounds, but confirm foul play was definitely involved.

This is the 11th homicide of the year in Fort Myers.
