PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla - Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a man captured on surveillance video June 7, 10:40 a.m. at a Circle-K in Port Charlotte who grabbed a 93 year old woman’s wallet and fled.

The elderly woman was standing in line to pay for gas around at 2646 Tamiami Trail when a man who had been in the store for about 20 minutes, grabbed the wallet from her hand and fled. A witness said the man got into an older model black Mitsubishi 4-door vehicle parked by the pumps and left the area. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’-8” tall, blond hair, 120 pounds, wearing a tan shirt, tan pants, tan baseball cap.

Detectives have provided two surveillance photos, one is of the suspect at the counter in the baseball cap, and the other shows a woman walking toward the pumps and her Ford Expedition. The suspect’s car is on the far side of the pumps. Detectives also want to identify the woman in the photo wearing a yellow top who might be able to help identify the suspect that ran past her.

If anyone has information about this robbery by sudden snatching, please call CCSO Detective Terry Cochran at 941-639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
