PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Jimmy Sella is helping to put Charlotte County on the map. The 20-year-old just qualified for the Junior Bowling Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. He's the only one from Charlotte County to do so. Jimmy says he has a bowling average of 194 but just last week he bowled the Holy Grail of bowling. A perfect 300.
"That's like hitting a hole in one on every single shot," said Joe Osinga who frequents Treasure Lanes in Port Charlotte. "He's crazy good, I don't think I've ever seen him have a bad day," Osinga said.
Jimmy attends Edison State College and is majoring in radiology. This bowling tournament could help Jimmy out, considering the grand prize is $10,000 in scholarship money.
"10 grand would be awesome because there will be college scouts in Vegas so I'm also hoping to be noticed by a college scout and maybe go of to a big college to bowl for them," Jimmy said.
The tournament is July 8th and Jimmy will have to pay his way, about $1,500.
