PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives arrested two men for Trafficking in Oxycodone pills Thursday; one of the men brought his 18-month-old son along to the drug deal.

Michael James Marotta, (aka Michael James Barnum), 34, 1278 Slash Pine Circle, Punta Gorda, and Raymond Dale Green, 38, 23340 Jason St., Port Charlotte, were arrested following the exchange of $850 for 50 Oxycodone pills with an undercover detective in a parking lot of a Charlotte Harbor restaurant.

Narcotics detectives said Marotta brought his infant son along; the boy was in the back seat of the vehicle when the drug deal was transacted. Department of Children & Families was called and the baby was turned over to a relative.

Marotta and Greene were transported to the Charlotte County Jail where they remain without bond. Marotta was charged with Trafficking in Oxycodone, Sale and Delivery of Oxycodone, Possession of Oxycodone, and Child Neglect. Green is charged with Trafficking in Oxycodone.

Marotta, a convicted felon, has been booked into the jail 15 times while Green has been booked 10 times. Anyone with knowledge of illegal drug activity is asked to please call the CCSO Narcotics Unit at 941-575-2157 or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
