TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Police in Tampa have located a toddler after the car he was sitting in was stolen while his mother ran into a grocery store.
The Tampa Police Department says the thief abandoned the stolen 2003 black Nissan Murano a short distance away on Friday.
Officers looking for the vehicle spotted it and found the 3-year-old child safely inside. Police say he was honking the car's horn and playing with a Sponge Bob toy.
Authorities have not identified a suspect and say the toddler is the only known witness to the crime.
