LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Local restaurants may be on the lookout for the food thief.   He's the man who did not try to hide his face, while carting away meats from two restaurants on Monday.

Some people wonder if the man may be hungry or trying to feed his family.   Victims just say:   what he's doing is wrong and hurtful to hard-working restaurant owners.

"I think it's a nuisance and it shows he is not real smart.    I mean, there are so many opportunities out there, you don't have to rob chicken!", said Joshua Skinner, an employee at Bennett's Fresh Roast.    The thief stole 40 pounds of chicken meat from Bennett's late Monday night.

He also hit Juanita's Restaurant in Ft. Myers for the second time in 6 weeks.    He broke into a freezer and took about 800 dollars worth of meat, early Monday morning.    The owner of Juanita's says the same man broke into the same freezer and stole 700-dollars worth of meat, on March 31 of this year.

"I am angry and I don't want this person to do this again to us or to others," said Juanita Saldana through a translator.    Juanita owns and runs the restaurant.   "I want the police to catch him.  We understand that people may be hungry.  But this is not right to do, to steal," Saldana said.

However, at Bennett's, customer Terri Heck had a different take on it all.   "He may be hungry or may be stealing for his family.   That happens when the economy is not good.   So I feel sad for him,"  Heck said.

Crime stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man.
