COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- High school students in Florida need to pass the FCAT Reading and Mathematics tests to be eligible for a high school standard diploma. This year, in Collier County, a total of 348 seniors retook the FCAT Reading test and 94 seniors retook the FCAT Math test.
FCAT retake results released Thursday show that only 52 of the 348 students who retook the FCAT Reading test passed. The district percent passing was the same as that of the state: 15 percent.
Of the 94 Collier County seniors who retook the FCAT Math test, only 20 students passed. The district percent passing was also the same as that of the state: 21 percent.
