PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Street Crimes and Narcotics units raided a Port Charlotte drug home at 18227 Ackerman Avenue at 11 a.m. Wednesday. When the search warrant was executed in the morning, deputies and detectives located a total of 275 grams of marijuana in the home, a digital scale, numerous plastic baggies, a baggie with Cocaine residue, a bong, two Pyrex pipes, rolling papers and a metal grinder. However, the suspect, Jason Edward Dorris, 27, was not at the residence at the time. So detectives left and issued a warrant for his arrest. At 11:40 p.m., however, Dorris called The Sheriffs Office to report his home had been burglarized. When deputies arrived at his home, he was arrested.
Dorris was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail and later posted a $8,500 bond.
This is the seventh booking for Dorris who has 17 records.
