COLLIER COUNTY, Fla - The Collier County School Board has invited three superintendent candidate finalists to attend an afternoon public reception and evening public forum Tuesday and a final interview with the Board on Wednesday. However, one candidate – Robert Duron – has removed his name from consideration.
Therefore the two candidates chosen to continue in the process are:
· Michele LaBute, Chief Operational Officer, Collier County Public Schools in Naples; and
· Kamela Patton, Region Administrative Director, Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Miami.
There are two public events planned for Tuesday, both to be held at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Administrative Center:
· A public reception with the two superintendent candidates will be held this afternoon from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
· A public forum with the two candidate finalists will be held this evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. WINK News Anchor Lois Thome will moderate the event.
School Board interviews with the two finalists will begin at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. Board selection of a new superintendent is expected to follow the interviews.
