PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives arrested eight boys ages 11 to 15 in connection with the March 26 burglary of the Harold Avenue Park baseball field concession stand at 23400 Harold Avenue in Port Charlotte.

The names of the boys were not released because they are minors.

Detectives received a tip that led to the arrest of all eight elementary, middle and high school boys. The building was entered through a rear door, the snack bar area was ransacked, and $200 in candy and soft drinks was stolen. A cash register valued at $125 containing about $70 in cash was also stolen

Two if the boys were charged with felony Burglary and Grand Theft, while detectives charged the other six boys with two felony counts each of being Principal to Burglary, and Principal to Grand Theft. All eight boys were booked into the Charlotte County Jail and released to their parents.
