CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Tracking crime in your neighborhood is getting easier.

Cape Coral Police unveiled "crime mapping" on Tuesday.

The feature allows you to see what type of crime is happening outside your window.

You can find it at capecops.com

When you scroll to the part of the city you live in little icons will pop up.

The icons stand for the type of crime that occurred.

For instance, an "A" stands for assault.

Click on the icon and it will tell you the date of the crime, where it happened and specifically what it was.

"T" stands for theft.

Same rules apply, click on it and it'll give you all the information about the crime.

The mapping gives you a full list of all the incidents that will appear on the site, such as homicides, breaking and entering, fires, assaults, and sexual offenses.

The website will even tell you if there's a registered sex offended living near you.

Cape police want this to be a one stop shop where you can find out all the information you need to feel safer.
