CAPE CORAL- Cape Coral Police Detectives investigated a sexual crime on January 18, 2010 regarding a woman who reported to police that her 10-year-old daughter told her that she had been molested by a family member.
The victim told detectives that the suspect took her into a bedroom, placed a dresser in front of the closed bedroom door so no one could walk in, then he performed sex acts on her.
Detectives Todd Kerns and Christine Montesino-Mena interviewed the suspect at police headquarters the next day. The suspect, Timothy James Turner, 19, confessed to the crime and was arrested on charges of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.
Turner took a plea on Wednesday to the charge and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He will also have to register as a sexual offender.
