LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A car plowed into a Lehigh Acres restaurant Friday night. It happened at Jan-Bo restaurant at the Lehigh Towne Centre. A driver lost control of her SUV on Homestead Road, veered into a ditch, and accelerated into the front of the restaurant. Insulation, metal and glass covered the sidewalk and parking lot.

Two people inside were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released. The driver was not injured, but shaken up after the incident.

Jan-Bo owner, Steve Wong,  said they were very busy as usual around dinner time, and right before the accident, business thankfully slowed down.

"It was just a big loud noise like gunshots, Wong said. "The main thing is, nobody got hurt."

Wong said there was a customer inside, standing at the counter, and seconds before the accident, she left to answer a call, narrowly missing what couldve been serious injuries.

Wong hopes to have the restaurant back up and running by Saturday.
