DESTIN- Residents of an exclusive stretch of Panhandle beach hope to ban weddings and wedding parties because of the noise.

The Walton County Commission is set to consider an ordinance on the issue next month. Homeowners in Santa Rosa Beach near Destin say the weddings are often loud, disruptive and violate housing codes by allowing too many people in individual homes.

But wedding planners and others in the beach wedding business say that an ordinance would devastate the local economy.
