FORT MYERS, Fla. - A thief thought a packed restaurant during a Super Bowl party would be the perfect time to steal a purse, but surveillance cameras were rolling during the whole act.

"I felt someone come up next to me but I didn't look over because people had been coming and going all night. They said something to the guy next to me and the bartender, then they unhooked my purse and ran out the door," said Ashley Cox.

Cox and her boyfriend were watching the big game at Alli-Gators Bar & Grill in Fort Myers when the crime happened.

Now restaurant management has placed an ad on Craigslist, offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The female thief was able to cash one check before Cox frooze all of her accounts.

"It makes me so nervous - if she was brazen enough to walk in spark up conversation take it and run... Then what's to say she won't walk right into my home," said Cox.

Fort Myers Police say they are actively investigating the case and are offering a reward for information as well.
