FORT MYERS, Fla.- Art Fest is one of the busiest weekends of the year for businesses in downtown Fort Myers.

Marci Sanders and her three girlfriends went to Art Fest today.

"We bought some art work; we bought some jewelry," said Sanders.

Then they stopped by French Connection Cafe in downtown Fort Myers to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some margaritas.

French Connection waitress Angel Hila says the art festival brings their highest lunch volume of the year.

"When we opened at 11:00a.m., people were waiting, and it's been constant all day," said Hila.  " A very good day for us."

Its also been a good day for The Red Rock Saloon.

"We were slammed all day. We have been wall to wall here since we opened," said Jason Polly, manager of The Red Rock Saloon.

Polly tells WINK News they don't mind working hard as long as the customers keep coming.

"We got a lot of new business," he said.

Restaurants and bars made sure they had plenty of people on staff to handle the big crowds.
