TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - State wildlife official say they're cracking down on people who buy or sell game meat online.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said Thursday that they're seeing an increasing number of people who are selling game meat, like deer or duck, over the Internet.

It's illegal to sell or purchase game meat online, but officials say a lot of people might not even know they're breaking the law.

One reason for the rise in online sales could be a popular new pet diet that calls for hormone-free, natural meat for dogs. But officials say people could be placing themselves or the pets in danger, because there's no way to know if the meat is processed in sanitary conditions.
