LEE COUNTY, Fla. - The Friday lunch line at popular Downtown House of Pizza in Ft. Myers is just the calm before the storm.
"It's going to be a very, very busy weekend," says employee Joshua Katzer. "Starting with tonight."
Across the country, Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest days for pizza parlors, with the national chains predicting long delivery times on Sunday. Domino's Pizza alone predicts it will sell some 9-million slices that day.
Many restaurants began taking Super Bowl orders days or - in some cases - weeks ago. Downtown House of Pizza predicts it will make four times the number of pies made on a regular day.
"The phone hasn't stopped ringing," Katzer told WINK News.
Customers are urged to call well ahead, regardless of the pizza restaurant they choose.
