GOLDEN GATE, Fla. - New developments in the fatal stabbing of a Palmetto Ridge High School student. We're learning more about the student accused of the crime.

His family and people who know the suspect - Jorge Saavedra - tell WINK News he'd been bullied for months and was scared to ride the bus, even sometimes skipping school to avoid be taunted.

WINK News got our hands on a report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office - that shows the 14 year old was arrested on December 9th. His mother called the Sheriff's Office to report her son was skipping school.

A deputy escorted Saavedra and his mother to the school. That's when Saavedra tried to leave. The deputy ultimately put the teen in cuffs for physically resisting arrest.

We talked to Saavedra's family and people who know him. They say the teen didn't want to ride the bus anymore because the teasing was so badly His mother added, it had been going on the entire school year. A close friend said Jorge had taken as much as he could and that more will be revealed as the investigation goes on.
