NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Lee County deputies arrested a 13 year-old boy at North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts after he brought a .45 calibur handgun to school.
WINK News is not naming the teen because of his age. Deputies also say it wasn't loaded, and he wasn't planning on hurting anyone.
Witnesses say the student brought the gun on the bus. Deputies say he brought it to school to show off to his friends.
School leaders sent home a note to parents explaining what happened.
The 13 year-old was taken to Lee County Jail. He's facing possible felony charges.
