NORTH FT MYERS - Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested two men on drug charges during a traffic stop on I-75.
LCSO conducted a traffic stop on the 2008 Dodge Nitro after it was driving under the posted speed on I-75. After officers made contact with the driver, Lavor Williams, an odor of raw marijuana was noticed coming from inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of more than 7 pounds of marijuana, packaged and concealed inside the rear cargo area of the vehicle. A Sheriff’s Office K9 alerted to the illegal drugs and field tests confirmed the contents.
The street value of the seized marijuana is estimated in excess of $7,000 dollars. Both, the driver and passenger, were placed under arrest without incident.
Lavor Amador Williams of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Barrington B. Palmer of Miramar, Florida have been charged with Possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Possession of over 20 grams of marijuana and Possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Palmer has a prior arrest history for illegal narcotics in the Miami area.
