FORT MYERS, Fla.-- Events like Music Walk and Art Walk are luring patrons to the revitalized River District in Downtown Fort Myers.
Music Walk is typically held the third Saturday of each month, but it was pushed back in January to accommodate last week's Surf and Song Music Festival.
In December, the event drew about 4,000 people to the downtown area.
Visitors can enjoy live music at bars, restaurants and galleries.
Businesses say the added traffic has brought an increase in sales.
At Cafe Matisse on First Street and Hendry Street, all staff is brought in on event days like the Art and Music Walks.
Head Server Sara Barnhart says she looks forward to the extra money she makes in tips.
The organizer of Music Walk, Andy Howl, says business owners have told him they see record numbers on event nights.
Music Walk is Saturday, January 22nd beginning at 7 pm.
Art Walk is held each first Friday of the month.
