FORT MYERS, Fla.-- A parade down MLK Blvd. in Fort Myers will wrap up with a day of festivities at Centennial Park downtown.

The parade in honor of Civil Rights legend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. begins at the Dunbar Jupiter Hammond Library at 10:30 am and will end at Centennial Park.

The celebration will continue at 12:30 pm with a ceremony and Taste of Dunbar Food Festival.

Students can participate in poster and essay contests honoring Dr. King.

Live music will be performed and a step dancing competition will be held at 3:00 pm.

Lee County schools and government offices are closed in observance of the holiday.
