CAPE CORAL- Cape Coral Police Officers arrest two burglars in separate incidents over the weekend. The first incident occurred on Saturday January 15th at 5:00am. Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress at 1308 SE 20th Street in which the homeowner called 911 upon discovering a man inside of his home.
The homeowner heard sounds in the kitchen but dismissed it, believing it to be his daughter or the friend that she had sleeping over. He then heard his dog growl and his pet bird rustling around in its cage. The homeowner then looked to his master bedroom door and saw a man in a dark hooded sweatshirt looking in the room.

Realizing that he had awakened the homeowner, the suspect ran out of the front door. The victim gave chase while his wife called 911.

CCPD Officers arrived moments later and set up a perimeter around the neighborhood. A police helicopter and K9 units also responded. The Aviation unit was able to spot a male hiding behind a fence a few blocks from the victim’s house. A K9 was able to track from the victim’s house to the very spot where the man was hiding. Officers took the man into custody. After being placed into a patrol car, the suspect threatened to kill the officers and their families claiming that all of their information was available on the internet.
