CAPE CORAL- And off-duty Lee County deputy is dead after a crash, yesterday in Cape Coral Scott Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Wheeler was riding a motorcycle that ran into a car at Pine Island Road and Skyline Boulevard.

24-year-old Scott Wheeler was heading eastbound on Pine Island Road when a vehicle turned in front of him.

Wheeler crashed into that vehicle and was ejected from his bike.

He died at the scene.
