FORT MYERS, FL- A Fort Myers man wakes up early in the morning and remembers he left expensive tools in his SUV.
He goes out to lock it and finds a man sitting in it.

Fort Myers resident Hank Free says,"The door was open like this, and he was in there, and I came around here and I really surprised him."

Free says he was surprised too. It was 2:30 in the morning and a stranger was sitting in his SUV.

"I said what are you doing in my truck."

Deputies say 19 year old Austin Yeomans, clutching a bag of burglary tools, begged Free to let him free saying that he lives just down the street.

Free says, "He tried to jump out and I shoved him back into the car."

He grabbed his appropriately labeled NRA knife sitting on the dashboard.

"It's got the second amendment on it where we have the right to bear arms. I said if you try to get out, I'm going to stick you, so he stayed there. The funny part is that all I had on was my underwear so I was holding him at bay with this little tiny knife, and I said, now what am I going to do."

Free honked his horn trying to get his neighbor's attention. He says, "I honked it so long that that neighbor came out, that neighbor came out, and my wife she never came out."

He yelled for his neighbors to call 911.

"I said please call the police, I have a burglar in my car, and call my wife and tell her some pants for me."

She did that, right before deputies got on scene and arrested Yeomans.

"It was a miracle, it was absolutely a miracle that I just woke up and came out to check my car."
