SOUTH FORT MYERS, FL- A woman calls 911 when she hears intruders attacking her neighbor.
The victim's family is forced to sit by and watch helplessly as he's tied up and beaten.
Jon McNabb says, "That's all I kept seeing is him swinging the gun around, from daughter to son to wife, it's it's sickening."

McNabb says he heard a knock on his door, thinking it was his neighbor, he answered it.

"I just opened the door a little bit, just to see, and boom they were ready for me."

He says two masked armed men hit him in the face with a pistol.
Dazed, McNabb ran for a kitchen knife.

It was too late, the men forced McNabb, his two children and wife, upstairs.

"They made everybody get on our bed, put me in the corner, and every time I'd say something the guy would hit me in the head with a stick."

McNabb says the men were demanding money and the family's safe.

"He put the gun right to my little boys head, he says I'll kill the kid, man where's the safe? I said, please we don't have a safe."

A neighbor heard the commotion and called 911, by then, the robbers had taken McNabb's wife outside with the intention of using her to get into the neighbor's home.

"I just look over at my kids, at my wife, I didn't know what to do."

Deputies arrived and were able to arrest one suspect.
The other two, they picked up later at their homes.
McNabb is just thankful to be alive.

"When they duct taped me, I thought they were going to kill me right in front of my kids."
