CAPE CORAL, FL- Cape Coral officials say they want city employees to give up their employee cell phones... for good. In return the city will offer a stipend of up to 50 dollars for employees to use their personal cell phones for city business. Currently, the city maintains nearly 600 moblie phones at a cost of 260 thousand dollars per year. The cost cutting measure is expected to save 75 thousand dollars per year. Employees will have to turn in their cell phones by February 1st.
