JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville teen was sentenced to one year probation, 250 hours of community service and ordered to write letters of apology for a 2009 crash that killed four of his friends and seriously injured four others.
A judge sentenced Brandon Hodges on Wednesday. He was 15 at the time of the June 2009 crash.
Authorities say Hodges was driving a sport utility vehicle on Interstate 295 in Jacksonville when he lost control and flipped three times. The eight passengers were all thrown from the vehicle.
The teens were reportedly heading to the beach, following their last day of school.
