ENGLEWOOD EAST, Fla. -- Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit detectives continue their investigation into a possible robbery motive of an Englewood East business this afternoon. CCSO received a call at 2:40 p.m. that the owner of Antiques + (plus) at 3501 N. Access Road (S.R. 776) could not be reached by phone and another person went to check on the man and found him on the floor in a pool of blood. When deputies arrived they found the man, notified EMS who transported him to L.A. Ainger Middle School nearby and he was flown out by MedStar to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma unit with severe injuries.

CCSO Major Crimes detectives, CID detectives, road patrol deputies, K9, Street Crimes and Aviation helicopter all responded and searched the area.  Detectives are asking the public for help if they saw anything around or in Antiques + in the Gallery Plaza located between the Tringali Community Center and Lemon Bay Drugs this afternoon. No other information or name of the victim are being released at this time pending further investigation.
