TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida labor officials report the state's unemployment rate is worsening with 12 percent of the state's work force now idled.

The Agency For Workforce Innovation reported Friday that more than 1.1 million Floridians were jobless in November. The agency says 55 of Florida's 67 counties reported double-digit unemployment for the month.

Florida's unemployment rate stood at 11.9 percent in October and the November figures were far worse than the national unemployment average of 9.8 percent.

Officials noted that the counties with the lowest unemployment rates were those with relatively high proportions of government employment.
